Protecting a Tesla Model Y the Right Way in Cedar Park, TX

At Blue Ocean Auto Spa, we recently had a Tesla Model Y come in for a full detailing, full front paint protection film and ceramic coating package, designed to protect the vehicle from the harsh Texas environment while enhancing its gloss and ease of maintenance.

Tesla paint is known for being relatively soft compared to other manufacturers, making it more susceptible to swirl marks, water spots, and environmental damage. That’s why proper preparation and protection are critical from day one.

Step 1: Thorough Foam Wash & Decontamination

Installer uses a heat gun on window tint film applied to a car door, helping the material conform smoothly to the glass surface. The tint darkens the window while reflections of the workspace remain visible.

We began with a thick foam pre-soak to safely break down dirt and road grime. This step minimizes the risk of scratching during the wash process.

From there, we performed:

  • Hand wash using safe wash methods
  • Chemical decontamination (iron remover)
  • Surface cleansing to remove embedded contaminants

This ensures the paint is completely clean before any correction or protection is applied.

Step 2: Paint Protection Film Before for Ceramic Coating

Our technician sprays slip solution on the front bumper of a Tesla Model Y as they align the paint protection film before locking down the PPF.
This Tesla Model Y is an example of how it can look after preparing the car in a clean environment. This is an excellent example of a clean PPF, Ceramic Window Tint, and Ceramic Coating from Blue Ocean Auto Spa of Cedar Park TX

Step 3: Ceramic Coating Application

Once the surface was fully prepped, we applied a premium ceramic coating to the Tesla Model Y.

Benefits of Ceramic Coating:

  • Long-term paint protection
  • Extreme hydrophobic properties (water beading)
  • Easier cleaning and maintenance
  • Enhanced gloss and depth
  • Protection against UV rays and oxidation

The result is a finish that not only looks incredible but also stays cleaner for longer.

Step 4: Final Inspection & Finish

This Tesla Model Y has a Ceramic Coating from Blue Ocean Auto Spa of Cedar Park TX and is demonstrating excellent water beading in the rain.

After curing, we performed a final inspection to ensure:

  • Even coating application
  • Maximum gloss and clarity
  • No missed areas or imperfections

The finished Tesla Model Y showcased deep gloss, sharp reflections, and incredible water behavior, making it easier for the owner to maintain moving forward.

Some vehicles arrive with presence already established. Others require a closer look to understand what they’ve been through before they ever meet their owner. This 2025 Bentley Continental GT Black Edition carried both qualities at once. From a distance, its black finish and sculpted proportions delivered the unmistakable weight of a grand tourer. Up close, the story shifted. After spending close to a year on a dealership lot, the surface had quietly accumulated the effects of time. Fine dust had settled into seams and trim edges. Pollen had worked its way into panel gaps and around badges. The deeper black paint, which should read like polished glass, instead showed a slightly muted character under direct lighting. It was not neglect, but it was far from the standard the car deserved. The wheels offered an immediate contrast between design intent and condition. The gloss black spokes, paired with bold orange brake calipers, should have delivered a sharp, high-performance aesthetic. Instead, a film of road residue and embedded grime dulled their definition. Even the intricate areas around lug nuts and inner barrels showed signs of prolonged exposure without proper attention.
