Protecting a New Corvette Stingray With XPEL PPF, Ceramic Coating & Window Tint

Buying your dream car is a big moment. For the owner of this black Corvette Stingray, it was even more significant: this was his first Corvette.

He didn't wait long to start protecting it, either. After taking delivery, he drove the Corvette straight from the dealership to Blue Ocean Auto Spa in Cedar Park.

Rather than treating paint protection film, ceramic coating and window tint as three unrelated upgrades, this project gave us the opportunity to build a coordinated protection package around a brand-new car.

The Corvette received XPEL paint protection film across the full front, FUSION CLASSIC ceramic coating, and XPEL XR Plus window tint with 20% VLT on the front two windows and 70% VLT on the windshield.

Starting With a Brand-New Corvette

There is something different about working on a customer's dream car immediately after delivery.

This Corvette wasn't brought to us after months of ownership. The owner made protection part of the new-car experience and brought it to Blue Ocean directly from the dealership.

For the exterior, the project centered on protecting the areas at the front of the Corvette with XPEL paint protection film while adding ceramic coating as part of the overall protection package.

XPEL Full-Front Paint Protection Film

The primary service on this Corvette was XPEL PPF covering the full front.

A Corvette's low, sculpted front end is a major part of the car's appearance. On this project, paint protection film provided a transparent protective layer over the full-front coverage area while allowing the black finish and body lines to remain the visual focus.

FUSION CLASSIC Ceramic Coating

The Corvette also received FUSION CLASSIC ceramic coating. PPF and ceramic coating are often discussed together, but they aren't interchangeable services. On this project, the paint protection film was the primary physical protection component for the full front, while the ceramic coating formed another part of the owner's overall vehicle-protection plan.

The result is a protection package built around the way the owner wanted to begin ownership of his new Corvette rather than waiting until later to start caring for the finish.

This Corvette is a good example of why we look at the complete vehicle rather than treating every service independently.
